SUMMARY:Group Volunteering
DESCRIPTION:Please join us at the City of Albuquerque Eastside Shelter on Sunday\, April 14th at 12:00PM for group volunteering as well as orientation for new shelter volunteers. No sign up required\, just show up ready to volunteer. \n\n\n\nVolunteer opportunities include: \n\n\n\n\nGrooming: Brushing\, haircuts\, nail trims\n\n\n\nEnrichment: Taking bunnies out of their cages for exercise\, petting/loving on them\, making toys\n\n\n\nBunny Breaks: Take home a rabbit for a few days to give them a break from the stressful environment of the shelter\n\n\n\n Adoption Assistance: Update photos\, bios\, and kennel cards\, as well as answer questions from potential adopters about proper rabbit care\n\n\n\n\nNo experience is required. You will be trained in any opportunity you are interested in. After orientation\, you will be able to volunteer on your own time at the City of Albuquerque Eastside Shelter or participate in periodically scheduled group volunteer time. DESCRIPTION:If you have been waiting to vaccinate your rabbit against RHDV2\, now is the time! Our low-cost vaccine clinic only happens once a year so don’t miss out!\n\n\n\nWHEN AND WHERE IS THE CLINIC? April 27th and May 18th from 2:00 to about 4:00 at Southwest Veterinary Medical Center in Albuquerque. \n\n\n\nWHICH VACCINE WILL BE USED AT THE CLINIC? Medgene. This is currently the only vaccine available in the United States and the same vaccine used last year. \n\n\n\nIS THE CLINIC FOR ANNUAL BOOSTERS OR FOR RABBITS WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN VACCINATED BEFORE? Both! \n\n\n\nWHICH DATE DO I ATTEND IF MY RABBIT ONLY NEEDS A BOOSTER? – You choose! Since the booster is only one dose\, you can select which date you’d prefer to attend.  \n\n\n\nWHEN DO I BRING MY RABBIT IF THEY HAVE NEVER RECEIVED THE MEDGENE VACCINE BEFORE? You need to attend BOTH dates because the vaccine requires two doses to be effective. If you do not attend the first date you will not be permitted to attend the second date. If you skip the second date\, you will not receive a vaccine certificate because your rabbit will not be fully vaccinated. \n\n\n\nDOES MY RABBIT NEED A BOOSTER EVERY YEAR WITH THE MEDGENE VACCINE? Yes\, but the annual booster is only one dose. \n\n\n\nHOW MUCH WILL THE CLINIC COST? $33 per dose (so $33 for a booster and $66 for a currently-unvaccinated rabbit) plus applicable fees \n\n\n\nWHERE CAN I LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS VACCINE?
